Our Story

We are a woman-run five-acre flower farm and creative production agency located on Sauvie Island, just a short drive away from Portland, Oregon. We are committed to impactful land restoration through the education and implementation of organic, sustainable practices and regenerative methods. With the partnership of our network of multi-generational community stakeholders, we will craft a new story of land stewardship through access and change.

Our farm features a wide variety of annuals, perennials, grasses, natural dye flowers, herbs, and a specialized culinary garden for farm-to-table dining. Along with flowers, our property is home to an education and event space hosting seasonal conservation-based classes, creative workshops, and intimate gatherings. We provide community access to our farm sanctuary by way of internships, local schools, volunteer days, and partnerships with local therapists.

With our background in agency art direction, we offer services to help guide your project’s visual branding. We combine our experience as farmers, with our talents in documentary and studio-style storytelling by way of on or off-site photo and film services. Your project's creative needs will be met by our in-house team of farmers, photographers, art directors, producers, florists, and event staff.

Above all else, our priority is to create a welcoming, accessible, and safe space to nurture nature for everyone.

Meet Christine

Christine James grew up in the northernmost wilds of Idaho, running through horse pastures, dipping and ducking under barbed wire fences, tossing buttercup bouquets into creeks, and singing to herself up in the horse tack- scented barn loft on the farmland of her childhood home. Little did she realize at the time how much this solitude shaped and soothed her, how much the realities of growing up low income, rural, and with mental illness in the family created new lenses behind the way she saw the world. How much Mary Oliver’s quote “ Instructions for living a life. Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it. ’’ would be embodied in earnest.

Over the course of many years, Christine has worked as an Art Director, Photographer, Food, Clothing, and Prop Stylist. She envisioned, built and ran two clothing stores, marketing and selling to clients worldwide. She has worked commercially behind the scenes, concepting and offering creative direction and styling for many editorial and product shoots, curating and directing various teams of people, spanning numerous brands and styles. As time moved forward, and seemingly full-circle, Christine and her three children found themselves calling the beautiful and pastoral Sauvie Island their home, and as such, the desire to create a sanctuary of flowers for a soft place to heal and land.

Over the next several years, Christine began to merge her love of visual storytelling with her love of farming, and it has been the most natural and fulfilling union. On warm summer nights, you can find her trimming the cosmos with music in her back pocket, and her whole entire heart on her sleeve.
